Preparing The Back Braces

I cut the Sitka Spruce braces, thinned them to 6mm, and shaped the ends. I also radiused the bottom of each braces with my 15 foot radius dish. The channels were cut so there is a tight fit.

You can see the radius in the braces here, the centers are on the back and the ends are raised. When glued the braces will force the back to have the same 15 foot radius.

The braces will get their final shapes after they are glued in.

I put the back and top into the heated drying cabinet for the night. The humidity in Wisconsin is too high for guitar making. When the front door is close the light bulb heater and small fan will dry out the wood to a better degree.
